Sauteed Asian Broccoli Slaw

I had a very tasty side dish at a restaurant recently. As the server walked towards our table, the aroma of toasted sesame oil was distinctive and the taste was full of flavor. This side dish was so good I knew we had to try replicating it for home meals. The side dish is a Sauteed Asian Broccoli Slaw and the credit and kudos for replicating this dish goes to my wife. The recipe is below.

Sauteed Asian Broccoli Slaw raw ingredients

Sauteed Asian Broccoli Slaw

Ingredients

  • 1 package of broccoli slaw.
  • soy sauce
  • toasted sesame oil
  • light olive oil
  • dash of garlic powder
  • 2t lemon juice
  • 1T brown sugar
  • pre-cooked cubed chicken (optional)

prep time 3 minutes. Cook time 10- 15 minutes

Directions

  1. Heat the skillet (we use cast iron for nearly everything)
  2. Add some oil to the pan (either toasted sesame or the olive oil)
  3. Add the slaw, season with garlic powder, soy sause lemon juice,  and saute 5 -10 minutes
  4. Move the slaw to the side of the pan, turn down the heat to a medium low
  5.  On the other side of the pan add a little more toasted sesame oil, lemon juice, brown sugar
  6. Once the brown sugar is dissolved, mix everything together
  7. Add the pre-cooked chicken cubes (optional)
